Few places in the world can offer more than the Fraser Coast when it comes to holding a conference. We have it all – world-class conference facilities, a stunning natural setting, easy transport links and a wide choice of facilities that can be tailored for any event up to 500 people.
Getting here is a breeze, with daily connecting flights from Brisbane and Sydney, or an easy 3-hour drive from Brisbane straight up the Bruce Highway.
Our facilities range from small intimate luxury resorts for high-end delegates to resort hotels that can accommodate up to 300 guests. Or take over a whole town! Every two years, more than 900 delegates including music teachers, university students and the music trade industry attend the Maryborough Music Teachers conference bringing the beautiful city of Maryborough alive with music, trade displays and performances.
Centred around the Brolga Theatre and Convention Centre, its state-of-the-art spaces are augmented by large, enclosed temporary ‘hoecker’ structures which house the trade displays and provide extra function and session spaces. Performances take place in the Maryborough Cultural District and Gatakers Art Space.
When it comes to activities, your delegates will be spoilt for choice, with a wide variety of sports, arts and culture, sight-seeing and relaxing activities available.
From August to October, the best whale watching in the world is right on the doorstep of Hervey Bay. For the more adventurous, fishing, 4-wheel driving on the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, diving on Lady Eliot Island or horse-riding in the picturesque rural hinterland are just a few of the available attractions.
For a more relaxing day, relax on a beach, swim in the clear fresh water lakes of Fraser Island or take in the funky retro shops in Maryborough Heritage District.
