The Fraser Coast Food Story is gaining traction throughout and beyond our region as the Relish Fraser Coast brand is used to promote the diversity and quality of our local food industry, from paddock to plate.
Many regions throughout Australia and the world use their food offerings as a basis for local marketing and industry development, but what makes our Food Story so special is the integrated approach that encompasses all elements of the food chain, rather than merely highlighting or focusing on a single element such as local cuisine or agriculture.
Eyre, promoted as Australia’s Seafood Frontier focuses on their primary product of local seafood; the Yarra Valley is renowned for its wine and wineries; Gympie is well known for its agriculture and Melbourne has grown a reputation for fine dining and cafe culture.
Fraser Coast however, has all of the above. From primary production, to food processing; cooking classes to gourmet dining, our region has taken a leap ahead of the pack and brought together all the different elements of our regional food story to create a diverse offering aimed not only at pleasing and enticing visitors and locals alike, but in engaging industry to build strong networks and opportunities for business and industry development.
The Relish Food & Wine Festival, to be held on June 4 2016, is the flagship event of the Fraser Coast Food Story and aims to epitomise everything the Relish brand stands for: beautiful, fresh local food, gourmet dining experience, opportunities for local businesses to grow their brand and contribute to industry development, and best of all a great day out!
