Agricultural and Food Industry Forum
Value adding and using by-products of existing Fraser Coast agricultural industries is the focus of the Agricultural and Food Industry Forum in Maryborough next week (Thursday February 2).
The forum will be held in the Federation Room at the Brolga Theatre from 10.30am to 5pm.
Keynote speaker Stuart Christie from Possible People will focus on making the best of existing industries by finding ways to value-add and use by-products.
The point that there is value in every part of the production process will be reinforced by the owners of a new Fraser Coast business which uses resin from pine waste to make glue.
“There will also be an update on the Relish Fraser Coast Food story, exciting new businesses including MSF Sugar and the Biological Farmers Association upcoming conference,” Agriculture and Rural Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor James Hansen said.
“Agriculture is a very important industry on the Fraser Coast which has a great potential to grow and provide jobs.”
