Christmas comes alive in Queens Park
09/12/2015
Celebrate the magic of Christmas in Queens Park Maryborough at the annual Fraser Coast Carols in the Park this Sunday, December 13 from 2.30pm.
Bring the kids, blankets and chairs to set up in the beautiful natural amphitheatre of Queens Park for an evening of community carols, delicious food stalls, fireworks and perhaps even a special visitor!
Invest Fraser Coast Tourism and Events Manager, Tas Webber, said Carols in the Park has a fantastic line up of local artists that will be performing throughout the evening.
‘Talented local singers will include Derek F Smith, Sam Maddison and Leon Nehow just to name a few. Come along, bring your family and enjoy an evening of free entertainment,’ said Mr Webber.
The annual Apex Santa Fair will be on before the carols, from 2.30pm in Queens Park, with all the favourites including toy and ham spins and competitions to win a girls or boys bike on the evening.
Apex Club of Maryborough President Matthew Richers, said the evening was shaping up to been more popular than last year.
‘Kid’s rides and activities, competitions and games will be on offer for the afternoon before the carols kick off. This year, we are raising money to repair the traditional Green Maryborough Apex Train which unfortunately won’t be making it to this year’s fair,’ said Mr Richers.
Bring your own picnic or enjoy food and drinks from local vendors that will be available throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
