Busy Summer Holidays on the Fraser Coast
Recent events notwithstanding, the holidays are now over for another year and operators have reported strong results for the 2015/16 Christmas period and summer holidays.
Invest Fraser Coast said many accommodation providers have reported 100% occupancy for the period between Christmas and New Year, and continued with strong trends throughout January.
Ray Young, manager of Bayshores Holiday Apartments said occupancy was at 100% from December 18 through to January 16.
‘It has been a very successful holiday period for us with most guests heading out during the day and spending money across the Fraser Coast’.
‘We are now preparing for Easter Holidays which are just around the corner in March this year’, said Mr Young.
Invest Fraser Coast Board Member, Derek Foulston, said the results were impressive and is hoping this is a good indication of how 2016 will look for operators.
In addition Mr Foulston in his capacity as On-site Manager for The Bay Apartments, said they experienced one of the best summer holidays on record.
‘January saw a combination of domestic leisure business and inbound travellers. It has been a great start to 2016 with bookings already looking great for the coming months, including the School Triathlon in mid-February and the Easter Break.’
‘A high percentage of our bookings are return guests who enjoy what the Fraser Coast has to offer so much that they are re-booking each year as they depart,’ said Mr Foulston.
