Hot Summer Campaign on the Fraser Coast
The Fraser Coast’s big nature experiences were the key driver of the highly successful 2015/16 summer tourism marketing campaign.
Invest Fraser Coast (FCO) announced today that the Summer Campaign, officially running from October 18 until November 15 delivered strong results for the region including increased website traffic, social media engagement and visitors to the region.
David Robertson from Fraser Experience Tours said it was a great way to increase traffic through to their business website.
“From the campaign, we received a lot of website traffic via the Visit Fraser Coast and Visit Queensland websites and social media channels, which in turn generated direct bookings that were of ten-fold value on our investment. It was a great way to kick start the bookings for the summer holidays”, said Mr Robertson.
Interim General Manager of FCO Leigh Bennett, said the campaign targeted a geographic area of 400km radius from the Fraser Coast.
“The Summer Campaign, in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) was a completely digital initiative utilising social media, and search engine digital marketing techniques.”
“Building on the fantastic results from the 2015 Whale season, the Summer Campaign showed significant increases on the visitfrasercoast.com website. In comparison to the year prior campaign, sessions increased by over 30% and pages per session also improving by over 35%,” said Mr Bennett.
Lloyd Burgess from Tasman Venture said the campaign was a great way for him to target consumers outside the Fraser Coast region.
“By partnering with FCO, TEQ and other local operators, we can promote the Fraser Coast as a whole to a far bigger audience and generate great interest in the region.”
“With summer officially over, we can say it has been a successful season for us and have certainly heard positive reports from other operators that we work with as well,” said Mr Burgess.
The successful summer campaign highlighted the Fraser Coast as the home of some of nature’s biggest outdoor visitor experiences including World Heritage listed Fraser Island, the Great Sandy Strait, aquatic playground Hervey Bay and the heritage streetscapes of Maryborough and surrounds.
